What you’ll be doing:
1. Producing fire risk assessments for Submarines during construction, site facilities, and facilities under the control of BAE Systems
2. Auditing, assuring, and maintaining fire safety process documentation and management strategies across the Barrow site
3. Delivering fire training packages for all personnel on-site including areas of specific fire safety responsibility
4. Supporting and developing the awareness of fire safety and fire risk management across BAE Systems Submarines Business
5. Supporting the Principal Fire Safety Advisor in delivering suitable fire safety arrangements across all aspects of the Submarine build programme
6. Supporting regulatory site inspections
7. Conducting internal audits and assurance inspections on all areas of fire safety
8. Supporting working groups and SHE plans owners on all areas of fire risk management
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Experience in undertaking fire risk assessments
* An understanding of fire risk management strategies
* Auditing fire safety arrangements and management strategies
Desirable:
* A relevant fire safety qualification such as NEBOSH – Certificate in Fire Safety & fire risk management
* Experience of delivering training to large groups of people
The Fire Safety Team:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing workforce, who ensure the development of site-wide fire strategies, fire risk assessments, and oversee building projects as the fire subject matter expert.
The role also offers significant flexibility in working hours and location of work with the opportunity to achieve a suitable balance between on-site and at home working.
The Senior Fire Safety Advisor will take a pivotal role within BAE Fire & Rescue Service, supporting all aspects of fire safety and fire risk reduction activities.
The Senior Fire Safety Advisor will support the Principal Fire Safety Advisor and the wider BAE Systems Fire and Rescue Team by having a working knowledge of fire safety and the ability to provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive fire safety information and advice to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
