The Royal Alexandra and Albert School exists to give our children a distinctly different start in life, preparing them for the world with hope, optimism, compassion and empathy. We are a co‑educational, non‑selective state boarding school for boys and girls aged 7‑18. The school hosts around 400 full boarders, including flexible boarding students from the local area, and offers a vibrant community of after‑school, weekend activities and trips.
Our Ofsted inspection of March 2024 states that “pupils are happy and well cared for at Royal Alexandra and Albert School. They benefit from positive relationships with staff across the school. Pupils feel safe, confident that they report any concerns or worries they will be dealt with.”

We seek an outstanding individual for a live‑in post in one of our Boarding Houses. This position is ideal for future teachers or those wishing to pursue a career working with young people. It can serve as a stepping‑stone to a PGCE course or other roles within a school environment.
Responsibilities
* Support the Head of House in the day‑to‑day running of the Boarding House
* Participate in and help run the wide co‑curricular programme, including weekend trips
* Ensure the welfare of students and maintain a safe, positive living environment
* Organise and lead activities that foster personal development, teamwork and community spirit
We Are Looking For Someone Who
* Is understanding, kind and supportive with an excellent sense of humour
* Is proactive, energetic and enjoys arranging and leading activities
* Has good organisational skills and a genuine interest in the welfare of students
Experience working with young people is desired but not essential. The role requires flexibility, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for supporting students in a boarding environment.
