Summary Jackson Stapleton Accountants have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our expanding team at our Retford office, as an Accounts Apprentice. You will be studying AAT Level 2 or 3, depending on your current experience and qualifications. Wage £14,133.60 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices Check minimum wage rates (opens in new tab) Training course Accounts or finance assistant (level 2) Hours Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm. 36 hours 15 minutes a week Start date Monday 1 September 2025 Duration 1 year Positions available 1 Work Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you'll do at work The duties and responsibilities involved in this role will involve: Accounts preparation Self Assessment Tax Returns Bookkeeping Bank Reconciliations VAT Return preparation Assisting team members Greeting clients when they come into the office Filing, scanning and emailing documents to clients Answering phone calls from clients Where you'll work Suite 1 a 34 West Street Retford DN22 6ES Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices. Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary. Plan and review accounting and finance tasks. Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications. Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks. Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data. Record transactional data. Your training plan Training will be at Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer. Day release. You will undertake the Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 standard. Apprenticeship search / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed. You will undertake both on and off the job training by a team of industry-qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge, and experience. Requirements Essential qualifications GCSE in: English (grade 4) Maths (grade 4) Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
