Geotechnical Engineer – Location: Reading. Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 + Benefits. An exciting opportunity has become available for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a specialist contractor and consultancy based in Reading. The Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be involved in a range of geotechnical projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
Responsibilities
* Planning and supervising ground investigations.
* Soil and rock logging to current British Standards.
* Producing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
* Undertaking foundation design and recommendations.
* Carrying out slope stability and earthworks assessments.
* Supporting retaining wall and temporary works design.
* Liaising directly with clients and project stakeholders.
* Assisting with project management and commercial aspects of projects.
* Mentoring junior staff as experience develops.
Requirements
* Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Previous experience within a geotechnical consultancy or contractor environment.
* Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques and geotechnical reporting.
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
