At our Stratford Facility, we fabricate and assemble components for heavy truck, defense, and off-road equipment companies. We feature departments for fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly, and manufacture everything from small components to large structures, including sheet metal and heavy plate.
Position Summary:
The Utility Operator works with team members to provide support in the Weld or Parts Department. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy when completing tasks to ensure production lead time initiatives are achieved.
Key performance indicators will be defined to support the preparation of products in welding and press, including but not limited to grinding, beveling, deburring, and sanding.
Primary Responsibilities:
Key areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to the following:
* Beveling – adding weld prep or customer-required bevels to parts after cutting to meet customer specifications.
* De-nest – separate skeletons from the cutting department and label and pack parts accurately, including meeting all traceability requirements. Also, this could include some assembly work, Rust Preventative application, and possibly some painting touch-ups.
* Deburring- use a hand grinder and other hand tools to deburr all metal parts that are produced from the burn tables to meet production demands and required Quality Assurance specifications.
* Drill – Use the radial drill or other drill presses as required to execute the requirements of a part meeting drawing
* Saw – Use of the saws to process tube, flat bar, etc to meet customer specifications and drawing requirements
* Shear – Use of shear to process parts as required
* Brake/ArbourPress – use of presses to stamp or flatten parts is assigned to meet customer specifications.
* Blast – Operate the Wheelabrator/Blaster as required
Education Requirements:
* High school education or equivalent, or years of experience combined with education, designations, and certification.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints
* Knowledge of various industry-related hand tools
* Experience working safely with lifting devices (Crane, Lift Truck, magnet, and other lifting devices)
* Ability to frequently lift to 30 lbs

Physical Environment:
* Industrial manufacturing environment: noise, oils, dust, solvents, and metal filings.
* Personal Protective Equipment is provided and must be worn.
Sensory Attention:
* Constant awareness that manufacturing processes meet customer specifications.
* An industrial environment with many different processes/manufacturing always occurring throughout the building so constant awareness towards safety measures.
