Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a secondary school in the Taunton area to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain classroom experience in a supportive school environment, whether you are an aspiring teacher, an ECT, or an experienced educator seeking a non-teaching role.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absence and ensuring students remain engaged with set work.
The role will involve:
Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson plans
Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
Supporting students to stay on task and complete assigned work
Providing feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
Building positive relationships with students and staff
Supporting the wider school team as needed
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with young people (education or similar settings)
Be confident managing a classroom environment
Have strong communication and organisational skills
Be reliable, flexible and professional
Hold a degree or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
