Job Description:
We're looking to recruit a Homelessness Prevention Officer in Liverpool on a temporary contract for a minimum of 3 months, paying up to £ per hour. This is a full-time role, requiring work 1 in every 6 weekends with 2 days rest the following week, and will involve a rotating rota between 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, and 12pm-8pm.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working directly with vulnerable individuals facing homelessness, with strong knowledge of Housing & Homelessness law, safeguarding policies, welfare benefits, and mental health.
Your new role
* Manage your own caseload, providing support to help sustain tenancies and reduce homelessness risk.
* Conduct risk assessments and safety planning, identifying concerns and co-creating trauma-informed support plans with individuals or third-party agencies, reviewed regularly.
* Facilitate access to external agencies, community resources, services, and opportunities.
* Maintain good relationships with landlords, stakeholders, and agencies to ensure comprehensive support for tenants.
* Provide practical advice regarding benefits and housing options.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience working with vulnerable individuals at risk of homelessness, with knowledge of housing & homelessness law and legislation.
* Understanding of safeguarding policies, mental health, substance, and alcohol misuse.
* Experience completing risk assessments and support planning using trauma-informed practices.
* Knowledge of welfare benefits and ability to advise and assist practically.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident in managing your own schedule and working independently.
