From March to October, you'll be living and working with a small team in the iconic blue Lifeboat House on Blakeney Point. Access is tide-dependent, so you’ll use a boat and 4x4 vehicle to get around. Planning your days off and supermarket trips takes a bit of strategy, but it’s all part of the adventure. You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team working in a truly dynamic coastal environment.Your summer role is varied and hands-on. You’ll prepare for the arrival of nesting seabirds by installing electric fencing, signage, and miles of pin and rope to guide visitors safely around sensitive areas. Predator control is also a key responsibility, along with enforcing dog restrictions to protect wildlife during critical breeding seasons. Once the birds arrive, your focus shifts to monitoring and surveying, and engaging positively with visitors and volunteers to build understanding and support for conservation.You’ll help maintain site presentation, support volunteer activity, and contribute to the day-to-day running of Blakeney Point. With changing tides, shifting weather and a seasonal cast of wildlife, no two days are the same.
