Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and enthusiastic individual to join our Advanced Clinical Practitioner team at Northumbria Healthcare, working within the Urology service Trust-wide.
The ACP in Urology will be a senior clinician within the Urological Services for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The role requires completion of MSc Advanced Clinical Practice and experiential learning, demonstrating high levels of autonomy across clinical practice, leadership, education, and research/audit. The ACP will help develop the wider urology service and team, spending approximately 20% of their time in leadership, education, research, and quality improvement. A specific Job Plan will be negotiated post-qualification.

Main duties of the job
Candidates without an Advanced Clinical Practice qualification will be supported to complete a 3-year, part-time MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, with support from the ACP lead, Clinical Supervisor, and the Urology team. The role involves working independently, developing clinical skills, and progressing towards independent practice.
Trainee candidates will progress through Band 7 (Year 1-2) and Band 8a (Year 3) as competencies are achieved.

Experience and knowledge
Essential
* Professional registration with NMC / HCPC / GPC
* Relevant degree, minimum 2:2, with willingness to pursue a Masters qualification
* Evidence of recent study or continuing education
Desirable
* Management and leadership qualification
* IR(ME)R training
* ALS / APLS
* Major Incident Training
* Prescribing qualification (where legally permitted)
Additional requirements include a DBS check, UK professional registration, and eligibility for skilled worker sponsorship if applicable.
