Responsibilities
* Provide expert personalised, holistic information and support to individuals affected by cancer and refer them to appropriate specialist support services within the skin cancer service.
* Recruit, train, develop and support volunteers for the Macmillan Information and Support Service at Broomfield Hospital.
* Act as a deputy to the Macmillan Information and Support Manager and manage the centre in their absence.
* Improve information and support to users and contribute to the cancer survivorship and self‑management agenda within the Trust and local community.
* Provide personalised support and information on cancer and its treatment, supportive and palliative care, family/relationships support, stress management, lifestyle coaching, employment, benefits, housing and legal issues related to accessing healthcare within the skin cancer service.
* Provide expert information guidance to healthcare professionals and social care colleagues.
* Support nurse‑led clinics in line with the skin cancer speciality service needs.
* Collaborate with the Macmillan Information Manager to develop a highly specialised programme for emotional support, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle.
* Recruit, train, manage and support a team of volunteers ensuring the roles complement the centre's support services.
* Develop, monitor and implement quality standards and outcomes for volunteers within the Macmillan Information Centre.
* Support the run and maintenance of nurse‑led clinics in line with specialty service needs, such as site‑specific metastatic breast clinics or general holistic needs assessment clinics.
