Job Title: Data Analyst
Location: Deephams
We are looking for a detail-driven and analytical Apparent-Loss Leakage Analyst to join our team supporting Thames Water.
In this role, you will play a critical part in identifying and reducing Unaccounted for Water (UFW)—water that is being used but not properly measured or recorded. This could include issues such as faulty meters, illegal usage, data inaccuracies, or system discrepancies.
You’ll combine data analysis with field coordination to investigate issues, develop solutions, and ensure successful resolution.
The Role
Analysis & Investigation
* Analyse District Metered Areas (DMAs) to identify potential sources of UFW or data discrepancies
* Review data from internal systems (e.g. GIS, Netbase, CMOS, C4C/ISU) to detect inconsistencies
* Investigate findings from leakage optimisation teams and other workstreams
Planning & Field Coordination
* Plan and deploy field technicians to investigate suspected issues
* Coordinate data collection from field activities
Reporting & Resolution
* Collate and analyse investigation data to determine root causes
* Develop and deliver resolution plans for identified issues
* Monitor progress through to completion
* Produce weekly reports for both internal stakeholders and the client
What You’ll Need
Skills & Experience
* Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, data manipulation, visualisation)
* Experience with data tools such as Power BI or Power Query (desirable)
* Understanding of water networks (desirable)
