A well-established and reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Duty Solicitor to join its growing Criminal Defence team based in Stockport.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor to handle a varied and interesting criminal caseload within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
You will represent clients across a broad range of criminal matters, providing high-quality legal advice and advocacy at both the police station and Magistrates’ Court.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing representation at police stations and Magistrates’ Courts
* Managing a varied criminal defence caseload
* Advising clients on criminal law matters from initial instruction through to conclusion
* Conducting advocacy where appropriate
* Preparing legal documentation and case files
* Liaising with courts, counsel, clients, and third parties
* Delivering excellent client care in often sensitive and high-pressure situations
* Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid and regulatory requirements
Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor with Duty Solicitor accreditation
* Experience handling criminal defence matters independently
* Strong advocacy and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively under pressure
* Excellent organisational and client-care abilities
* Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently
* Team-oriented with a proactive and professional approach
