Desian Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Wirral. This is a full-time position working within the school’s dedicated KS2 SEND provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. About the Role As a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: * Work within a small, collaborative team to support KS2 pupils with varied SEND, including Autism and ADHD * Provide both group and 1:1 support as required * Help create an inclusive, nurturing and structured learning environment * Assist with tailored interventions and personalised support plans * Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to help them engage and progress What We're Looking For * Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND * Confidence working with pupils who have Autism, ADHD, or similar needs * The ability to collaborate effectively with the SEND team and wider school staff * Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development * Strong communication skills and a proactive, supportive approach We also welcome applicants from related sectors such as children’s residential support, youth work, or care backgrounds who can bring transferable skills to the role.
