The successful candidate will play a vital position handling 999 and 101 calls.
This is a fast-paced, rewarding career where no two days are the same—operators may deal with cases ranging from missing persons to crimes in progress.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Initial Investigation: Assess risk, gather evidence, and provide crime prevention advice.
2. Collaborating with Partners: Work alongside emergency services and external agencies.
3. Providing Advice: Guide callers and manage expectations about police capabilities.
4. Recording Intelligence: Capture community information to support future policing.
5. Service Delivery: Maintain professionalism while handling high call volumes.
Shift Patterns:
6. Core schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off, with 10–12 hour shifts (2 days, followed by 2 nights).
7. Full-time workers get schedules 32 weeks in advance, part-time workers 64 weeks in advance.
8. Initial training is 6 weeks full-time in St Asaph or Colwyn Bay.
Level 4 Welsh language skills required.
