Overview
As a Supermarket Assistant, you\'ll help our customers feel valued on every visit, delivering Partner-led service and a passion for food that sets Waitrose apart. Your commitment to going the extra mile helps build trust and loyalty to the Waitrose brand. Night premium applies for any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 at £3.50 per hour, including existing Partners on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.
Key Responsibilities
* Stock replenishment — ensure shelves are full and products are in the right place for customers.
* Fulfilling online customer orders for driver delivery to customers\' doors.
* Reduce wastage by following product due diligence and applying markdowns to items nearing their sell-by dates.
* Collaborate with the wider shop team to support checkout, Click & Collect, on-demand orders, and other duties as needed.
* Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
Essential skills/experience you\'ll need
* Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed.
* Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
