A creative, design‑focused studio specialising in hospitality, retail and commercial environments is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join its growing team in Kenilworth, West Midlands. Known for delivering innovative, brand‑led spaces that balance functionality with memorable customer experiences, the practice works with leading operators across the UK and internationally.
This role is ideal for a technically strong, detail‑driven technician who enjoys working on fast‑paced interior, fit‑out and rollout projects. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that blends architecture, interior design and brand strategy to create engaging, commercially successful environments.
The Role
You will support the delivery of hospitality and retail projects from concept through to completion, producing high‑quality technical drawing packages and coordinating with designers, consultants and contractors.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing detailed working drawings, construction information and technical packages
Preparing and submitting statutory applications (Planning, Building Regulations, etc.)
Liaising with local authorities, consultants, contractors and suppliers
Supporting hospitality and retail fit‑out projects and brand‑rollout programmes
Preparing pavement licence drawings, as‑built information and H&S documentation
Assisting with measured surveys and site visits
Ensuring compliance with current regulations, standards and design risk assessments
Researching construction methods, materials and regulatory updates
Working closely with the wider design team to deliver coordinated drawing sets
Managing your own workload across multiple live projects
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an architectural or design‑led environment
HNC / HND / Degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Interior Design or similar
Strong technical knowledge of construction detailing and building systems
Proven experience producing detailed technical drawings and specifications
Experience in hospitality, retail or commercial interiors is highly desirable
Good understanding of Planning, Building Regulations and CDM requirements
Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
Strong project coordination skills and understanding of project delivery structures
Software Skills
AutoCAD – Advanced proficiency (essential)
Vectorworks – Advantageous
Adobe Creative Suite – Working knowledge
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
