RPA Engineer
Flexible working/remote/hybrid (must be able to travel to one of our Air IT locations on occasions)
We are looking for a practical automation engineer with strong scripting and programming skills. This role is not suitable for full-stack RPA engineers or robotics specialists. If your background is primarily in UiPath, Blue Prism, robotics, or large-enterprise RPA deployments, this position will not be the right fit. Instead, we want someone who thrives on scripting, hands-on problem solving, and building efficient automations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and support automations using Windows PowerShell and our Robotic Process Automation tool to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
2. Collaborate with stakeholders within our Network Operations Centre (NOC) teams to analyse existing processes, identify automation opportunities, and define requirements
3. Build and implement automation solutions that integrate smoothly with existing systems
4. Conduct thorough testing to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to specifications
5. Document automation processes clearly, including workflows, configurations, and procedures, to support knowledge sharing and incident management
6. Contribute to ad hoc projects that drive continuous improvement of business operations and automation platforms
7. Follow change management processes, ensuring testing and risk assessment before release
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
8. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
9. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
10. Strong Windows client and server scripting knowledge with demonstrable experience
11. PowerShell scripting experience across a large estate
12. Practical, operational approach with willingness to engage in varied business activities
13. Strong analytical skills to assess processes and identify automation opportunities
14. Excellent documentation skills
15. Confidence in liaising with stakeholders across the business
16. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
17. Continuous improvement mindset
18. Excellent research and analytical skills
19. Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desirable:
20. Experience with the Rewst RPA development platform
21. Prior experience in IT managed services or similar industry
22. Experience in administering and developing an RMM platform
