As a Driver, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, ensuring the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks to meet or exceed customer and company expectations. Working with Babcock and RAF Stakeholders, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Driving fuel tankers on shift to support flying operations, including performing daily, weekly, and necessary maintenance and checks for vehicle safety and compliance.
2. Managing all vehicle-related administration, ensuring licenses, medicals, and competencies are up to date.
3. Conducting see-in and see-off procedures and carrying out fuel and oil replenishment on aircraft.
This full-time role is based onsite at RAF Cranwell, near Sleaford, with shifts from 07:00-19:00 and 10:30-22:30, including late finishes as per business requirements, 7 days a week.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
* Prior experience as a Driver; holding a Cat C license is essential. Military experience is not required.
* Ability to work independently with strong timekeeping skills.
* Working knowledge of tachographs and understanding of transport and driver legal requirements.
Qualifications
* PSV, LGV C license, and ADR qualification (consideration given if only Cat C is held).
* Current DCPC card and digital tachograph card.
* Clean driving license with a Cat C qualification minimum.
* Must meet eye color vision standards of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain DBS security clearance. Many roles are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions, which may be affected by nationality, citizenship, or residency.
