Financial Controller / Management Accountant

London Events Caterer

£80,000 per annum plus bonus


My client is looking for a strategic hospitality Financial Controller / Management Accountant to assist in driving the business forward. They are looking for this role to provide accurate and timely financial and management information to support strategic and operational decision-making within the hospitality business. The Management Accountant will monitor performance, manage budgets, analyse costs, and deliver insights that help drive profitability and efficiency across the business and its operations. This role will be hands on within the business reporting to the MD and working alongside the Head of Sales and Operations Director.


* Monthly Management Accounts:
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts for multiple revenue streams across the business made up of events, B&I and festivals.
* Ensure revenue, expenses, and profitability are correctly recorded and analysed.
* Budgeting & Forecasting:
* Assist in the annual budgeting process and periodic re-forecasts.
* Work closely with operational managers to set and monitor budgets and costs.
* Cost Control & Analysis:
* Analyse key cost drivers (e.g., food and beverage, staffing, utilities) and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Conduct variance analysis between actuals, budget, and forecasts.
* Operational Support:
* Provide financial insights to operational teams to aid in decision-making.
* Review and support inventory and stock control processes.
* KPI Reporting & Business Insights:
* Prepare weekly and monthly KPI dashboards
* Identify and highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Audit & Compliance:
* Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
* Ensure financial controls and compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
* Systems & Process Improvement:
* Help improve financial reporting tools and automate processes where possible.
* Ensure data accuracy and integrity in hospitality management systems.


Key Skills & Experience:

* Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
* Experience in a similar management accounting role, ideally within the hospitality, leisure, or events sectors.
* Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Oracle, SAP).
* Knowledge of hospitality performance metrics and systems is an advantage.
* Commercial acumen and ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
* Strong attention to detail, organized, and deadline-focused.
