This is a broad, hands-on role offering a strong mix of month-end accounting and day-to-day finance operations, with real ownership of key processes. You will work closely with the Head of Finance, gaining excellent exposure across reporting, controls and operational finance, while also acting as a key support during periods of absence. You will play a key role in supporting month-end close, maintaining financial controls, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. Alongside this, you will act as a trusted support to the Head of Finance, helping to maintain continuity across finance operations. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Month-End Support monthly close processes including journals, accruals and prepayments Perform balance sheet reconciliations Assist in the preparation of management accounts Analyse variances and investigate discrepancies Support year-end processes and audit requirements Purchase Ledger & Operations Take ownership of supplier invoice processing and reconciliations Prepare supplier payment runs Manage supplier queries and resolve discrepancies Maintain accurate and well-controlled ledger records Data & Process Ownership Oversee supplier setup and maintain accurate records Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit standards Support pricing query resolution for key customer accounts Assist with quarterly claims and ensure accurate financial postings Finance Support & Deputy Responsibilities Provide support and cover for the Head of Finance when required Assist with prioritisation of workloads and issue resolution Contribute to maintaining smooth day-to-day finance operations Escalate risks and issues appropriately About You You will be organised, detail-driven and comfortable working across both transactional and accounting responsibilities. You enjoy taking ownership and are keen to develop your career within a structured finance environment.
