We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Manager to join our team in a dynamic children's home. The ideal candidate will provide nurturing support to children and Young People (ages 8-18) in a residential setting.
Experience and Qualifications
Experience is essential. To meet Ofsted Regulation 28, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Have worked with Young People for at least 2 years within the last 5 years.
2. Have supervised or managed a team for at least 1 year within the last 2 years in a care setting.
This position is ideal for an experienced Senior or Deputy looking to progress into a managerial role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing the residential home daily, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and contractual requirements, including health and educational needs of young people.
2. Liaising with agencies to develop appropriate plans and support for young people to ensure positive outcomes and contractual compliance.
3. Coaching, supporting, and developing staff through supervision to maintain high standards of care.
4. Ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, legislation, and inspection frameworks.
5. Assisting in budget preparation, managing, and controlling budgets within financial parameters.
6. Implementing changes in legislation related to occupancy to meet new requirements.
7. Identifying resource needs, and overseeing staff recruitment, training, and development to optimize service delivery.
8. Promoting a positive health and safety culture to meet accreditation standards.
9. Conducting staff supervisions to address training and development needs.
10. Safeguarding the wellbeing of young people in our care.
11. Building mutual trust and respect with young people to foster positive interactions.
12. Maintaining accurate house paperwork and records.
13. Managing complex behaviors and supporting crisis intervention as needed.
14. Providing holistic care covering physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social needs.
