Offer description

Overview

To provide a professionally competent Ultrasound service to patients throughout the University Health Board, in a safe clinical environment.

Provide a caring, confidential diagnostic service to all patients, ensuring their dignity and privacy are not compromised.

You will normally be required to work without direct clinical supervision but will report to the Superintendent Radiographers within the Department.

We have sonographer hours available within our busy & diverse UHB, we encourage continual professional development & education & actively promote & support role expansion alongside departmental requirements.

HCPC registered sonographer hours are available working in Prince Charles Hospital with rotational elements to other sites within the trust.

The vacancy is for a part-time sonographer ideally Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but can be discussed at interview.

This is an exciting opportunity for a varied rotational post working across trust ultrasound departments.

Minimum skill/experience required

Minimum skill/experience required: general ultrasound including transvaginal imaging & obstetric ultrasound. DQASS registration to undertake combined screening is preferred but training and certification can be completed in-house for the successful candidate.

Candidates with experience in other areas of ultrasound imaging including musculo-skeletal, testes, groins, hernias, neonatal hip screening, early pregnancy and vascular procedures would be highly desirable & can expect these skills to be encouraged, continued & developed as required.

Successful candidates will also be considered for expansion of their roles to include the above sub-specialities dependent on service needs and changing departmental skill-mix requirements.

Welsh Skills Desirable

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn’t need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t fluency, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see Welsh Language Guidance in the documents right at the bottom.
