About The Role
Join our dynamic Mergers & Acquisitions team as an In-House Property Solicitor, where you will work alongside seasoned legal professionals in the fastest-expanding optical business in the UK. Be part of our growth story and elevate your legal career in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.

This role is an office-based role at our HQ in Darwen. BB3 1AE
Key Roles & Responsibilities
* Manage and advise on all aspects of the group’s property transactions, such as:
* Lease renewals
* New Sites – new leases, purchases
* Closure/relocation - lease assignments, surrenders, notices
* Estate Management - rent reviews, alterations licences
* Some freehold acquisition work;
* Assist with Real Estate input into the Group’s M&A activity
* Support store rollout plans, refits, and lease rationalisation initiatives.
* Draft, review and negotiate a variety of real estate documentation.
* Provide legal support and risk-based guidance on property-related issues to Group practices and internal stakeholders. You will act as a key point of contact for property queries from the Estates and Facilities teams
* Liaise with external counsel, surveyors, planning consultants, and other professionals as necessary
The Ideal Candidate
You are a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, either newly qualified or with up to two years of experience in commercial property law. Ideally, you have worked at a reputable law firm or within an in-house legal team, focusing on commercial real estate transactions. You possess strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, along with commercial awareness and a solutions-oriented approach. You enjoy a varied workload, working both autonomously and collaboratively with business stakeholders. A genuine interest in in-house practice and a solid understanding of property law principles, particularly regarding Landlord and Tenant matters, will be beneficial.
