An exciting opportunity has come up for a 30.5 hrs Band 6 Shift leader on the Integrated Acute Assessment Unit (IAAU). This brand new unit was opened in January 2024 and have integrated the specialties of Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedic, ENT & Gynaecology. We have 3 bays with x9 side rooms, in total we are a 23 bedded area. The unit is a fast-paced area with a quick turnaround. We aim to assess, initiate treatment and either discharge or move to a specialist ward for further management. This is a great time to join this team in there new area.
We are now have shift leaders day and night within the IAAU. You will need to be able to effectively lead the IAAU team, to be able to delegate effectively and ensure the flow between the ED department and IAAU and then onto the wards. You will also be expected to rotate onto the SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) which runs along side IAAU, this will ensure that we have blended workforce across the IAAU and SDEC.
Training will be given to the successful candidate to assist them in the role as the Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. As part of this role you will also be giving training which will include but is not limited to, e-Rostering management, Ulysses management, sickness and absence management, PADR completion and clinical supervision completion.
