We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Wiltshire to assist with the Permanent appointment of a Member Services Manager. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £52,759.00 - £55,143.00 per annum
Summary:
The Member Services Manager (Pensions) leads the Benefits Administration Team within the Wiltshire Pension Fund, ensuring a responsive, efficient, and customer-focused pension service. The role involves managing and developing team performance, ensuring compliance with Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) regulations, and supporting strategic fund initiatives. The manager acts as the escalation point for complex cases and is instrumental in delivering service transformation and policy development.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the benefits administration team.
* Provide line management, including recruitment, appraisals, performance monitoring, training, and development.
* Ensure staff compliance with statutory and internal pension regulations and policies.
* Act as the lead contact for resolving complex member and employer pension queries.
* Interpret and apply LGPS and other relevant pension legislation.
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent professional experience.
* CIPP Foundation Degree in Pensions Administration and Management / PMI Diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in administering large final salary pension schemes.
* Proven team management and leadership experience.
* Extensive knowledge of LGPS and associated legislation.
* Proficient with computerised pension systems, particularly Altair.
* Strong understanding of government pension policy and its application.
* Proven project management experience and change implementation skills.
