Responsibilities of the Position
* To support the Operations Director to meet overall business objectives.
* To assist with the identification, development and implementation of process improvements.
* To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
* To be flexible and adaptable.
Key Area Responsibilities
* Design forgings to meet customer requirements within company capabilities.
* Design tool and die requirements to customer requirements.
* Ensure manufacturing processes meet agreed standards.
* Maintain IT record systems within department.
* Make necessary modifications to meet customer requirements.
* Produce all necessary drawings and documentation to effectively allow customer components, tools and dies to be manufactured.
* Recommend and implement system modifications as required.
* Assemble working manuals/records to allow forging operations to be carried out. This to include Forge Instruction Sheets etc.
* Responsible for all design work within Lincoln Plant.
* Responsible for design of new types of tooling to meet complex forging and quality standards.
* Upgrade and widen scope of computer systems within engineering department.
* Provide shop-floor support as required.
* Carry out any other duties as directed by the management team.
Knowledge and Experience
* At least 3 years' experience of working within a relevant design role gained in an Engineering environment.
* Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aerospace or Design Engineering.
* Familiarity with the forging ability of metals and basic metallurgy.
* Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD Software (preferably Creo) and Forge Simulation.
* Excellent IT skills to include Mini Tab.
Working Hours:
* Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm
* Friday - 8am to 3.30pm
