Temporary Finishing Manager – New Build Housing

Our client, a growing affordable new build housing developer based in the Northwest, is seeking an experienced Finishing Manager to join their team on a temporary basis due to project deadlines. This role will be site-based in Cheshire and is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong eye for detail and a passion for quality.
The Role
As Finishing Manager, you will take ownership of the final stages of construction, ensuring homes are completed to a high standard and ready for customer handover. You will be responsible for coordinating finishing trades, managing snagging, and maintaining excellent health & safety standards across site.
Key Responsibilities
Snagging & Quality Control:
Identify, record, and manage defects to ensure high-quality finishes across all plots.
Trade Coordination:
Schedule, supervise, and manage finishing trades including joiners, painters, decorators, and tilers.
Customer Care & Handover:
Ensure homes meet required standards prior to CML inspections and final handover.
Health & Safety:
Ensure all site activities comply with current health & safety regulations, including site inductions.
Reporting:
Maintain daily site records and regularly update senior site management on progress and issues.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Experience:
Proven background in residential new build construction, ideally within affordable or high-volume housing.
Certifications:
SMSTS
CSCS
First Aid at Work
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication and organisational skills
Confident managing subcontractors and deadlines
