Olympia is one of the world's most ambitious regeneration projects. Built as an events and exhibitions venue almost 140 years ago, today it is undergoing a £1.3bn transformation into London's newest cultural destination. Once complete, Olympia will be a showcase for global culture, live entertainment, innovation and creativity.


Designed by Heatherwick Studio and SPPARC for Yoo Capital and DFI, this new vision for one of London's most architecturally striking sites will offer visitors from all over the world the chance to come together to be entertained, learn, innovate and do business.


The revitalised estate will feature:

* 5 events and conferencing venues with a capacity of around 20,000 people; operated by Olympia Events
* A 1,575 - seat theatre - the largest new purpose-built theatre in London in almost 50 years, operated by Trafalgar Entertainment
* A 4,000 capacity live music hall operated by AEG Presents
* 30+ restaurants, bars and eateries, with operaters including Incipio and D3 Collective


Job purpose:

This role presents a unique opportunity to be involved in the launch of Olympia as an exciting, globally iconic destination. The Head of Community Relations role is key in building Olympia's new narrative, as it transitions into a new operational environment. As Olympia's spokesperson and ambassador, you will build and manage Olympia's reputation and relationship with the local community, local and regional authorities.


You'll develop and deliver the community engagement and consultation strategy for the estate. You'll work alongside communications leads within Olympia, it's ownership group and tenant partners to integrate and manage strategic communications and initiatives to ensure messaging is aligned for our audiences.


Key responsibilities:

* Create and maintain methods of community engagement that promote and deliver effective dialogue, participation and engagement from Hammersmith & Fulham's and Kensington & Chelsea's richly diverse communities.
* Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders including residents, community groups, charities, institutions, local businesses, media, councillors and politicians.
* To lead and co-ordinate the formal consultation processes with the community to ensure Olympia meets and manages it's planning requirements.
* Develops processes, and key messages, to ensure community stakeholders are well informed of the operational plans of Olympia and it's tenant partners.
* Be the point of contact for all community questions and correspondence, handling and addressing concerns directly.
* Ensures a breadth of activity to reach all audiences (in person events, tours, digital and print material)
* Work with tenant partners to ensure comms are co-ordinated and delivered in most effective and efficient methods to community stakeholders.
* Represent the community in internal meetings and forums.Develop and manage a programme of social value, that delivers tangible benefits in the short, mid and long term.
* Works with tenant partners to seek to align and co-ordinate social value efforts across the estate.
* Maintain and update Olympia's social value policies.
* Manage and promote the Olympia Foundation and Sponsorship & Donations programs. Reviews applications and communications with applicants on outcomes.
* Works with stakeholders to identify content for community messaging for internal and external channels.
* Works with the H of Sustainability/ESG to ensure a comprehensive and co­ordinated programme of initiatives.
* Works with the Brand & Events team to plan activities that add positive social value.


Qualifications and experience:

* Significant experience in similar senior role.
* Able to demonstrate ownership of community facing relations and organisational representation.
* Highly developed leadership and influencing skills, with the ability
* to secure buy-in from all levels of organisations.
* Ability to demonstrate effective leadership and engagement in developing policies and initiatives.
* Political and commercial acumen
* Demonstrates a collaborative approach to partnership working with colleagues and external stakeholders to develop joined up solutions.
* Flexible and able to respond to a fast­paced environment with rapidly changing demands.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and working with CRMs. Ability to work with Adobe Creative Suite software a plus.
