We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide person-centred support to children, young people, and families in the community. You will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome challenges, develop life skills, and access services that promote their independence, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide practical and emotional support to children, young adults, and their families in their homes and community settings.
* Assist service users in achieving personal goals, including education, social engagement, and independent living.
* Support families in developing positive routines, parenting strategies, and improved family relationships.
* Encourage young people to build confidence and life skills through structured support and community activities.
* Work collaboratively with social workers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies.
* Monitor and record progress through detailed case notes and reports, ensuring safeguarding and confidentiality at all times.
* Respond appropriately to crisis situations, escalating concerns in line with safeguarding policies.
* Promote equality, inclusion, and respect for cultural diversity within your support work.
Essential Requirements:
* Experienced male supporting vulnerable children, young people, or families.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
* A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel is required.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Children and Young People, or similar).
* Experience working with individuals affected by trauma, mental health, or additional needs.
* Familiarity with EHCPs, care plans, or early help frameworks.
