All about the role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer on a rotating day shift. The role supports the engineering needs of the organization, focusing on mechanical and electrical aspects of our CNC-controlled Laser Tube and Saw equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical-biased maintenance engineer to expand into laser machinery.
This role operates on a rotating 4-day shift pattern:
Week 1 – Mon – Thu 6am to 4pm
Week 2 – Tue – Fri 6am to 4pm
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting mechanical and electrical maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facility services (planned & reactive).
* Performing routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs.
* Developing processes, recommending improvements, and fostering a lean culture.
* Analyzing equipment failures and suggesting cost-effective solutions.
* Supporting the implementation of PPM schedules and operating procedures.
* Training operators on basic maintenance procedures.
* Working with machinery such as lasers, bandsaws, cold saws, drive shafts, drills, CNC machinery, and machine tools.

About you
You should be passionate, driven, and confident, with a collaborative and creative approach.
Essential skills:
* Electrical Maintenance Engineering qualification or equivalent, or a time-served apprenticeship – NVQ Level 3
* Experience in machinery maintenance within a heavy industry, with a strong electrical bias
* Experience with CNC maintenance is advantageous
* Fault finding, rectification skills, and mechanical competency, including hydraulics and conveyors
* Team-oriented mindset
