We are currently looking for a Painter to join our projects team and be part of our latest expansion and upcoming project in St. George's Bay, Malta. An exceptionally designed and built destination that includes a 5* Hard Rock Hotel, luxury homes, renowned restaurants and an upscale shopping mall that is set to add tremendous value to the local area.
Overview
We are looking for a skilled Painter to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces.
Responsibilities
* Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
* Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, buffing, sanding, remove old paint, etc.
* Fill cracks, holes and repair defects with appropriate material (e.g. plaster, sealer).
* Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture.
* Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
* Apply coatings and other finishes as needed.
* Install and repair gypsum partitions.
* Do touch up works as needed.
* Calculate costs and negotiate prices.
* Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions.
Job Requirements
* Proven experience as a painter.
* Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
* Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
* Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.).
* Good basic math skills.
* Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work at heights on scaffolding, ladders etc.
* Conscientious with great attention to detail.
* Knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to.
