Job Title: Breakfast & After School Playworker
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Castleward Spencer, Canal Street, Derby, DE1 2RJ
Hours: 22.5 hours per week during term time
Operational Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:30 to 9:00 for Breakfast Club and 15:00 to 18:00 for After School Club
Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour (plus holiday pay)
Contracts Available: Term Time only

Responsibilities
* Plan and execute structured and exciting activities that encourage maximum participation, such as multi-sports, games, arts and crafts, structured play, and more, ensuring they are age-appropriate.
* Follow all Health and Safety protocols and policies, including signing in and out processes.
* Provide refreshments for the children.

* Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere for the children in our care, from picking them up from school to safely delivering them back to their parents or caregivers.
* Collaborate with the team to plan and execute structured activities that encourage participation, such as multi-sports, games, arts and crafts, and more.
* Ensure all activities are age and skill-appropriate while prioritizing safety, including proper use of equipment and space.
* Provide refreshments for the kids while maintaining hygiene and health and safety standards.
* Set up and pack away play spaces, move furniture and play equipment as needed.
* Follow Health and Safety protocols and keep relevant documentation up to date, including accident and incident forms.
* Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out procedures for all children in our care.
* Communicate professionally with team members, parents, children, and schools; conduct regular maintenance and safety checks for all equipment and kit.
* Take the lead in championing health and safety and provide first aid where necessary.
* Keep all information and documents related to the children confidential and secure.
* Inspire our team and the children to have fun, be active, and lead an active lifestyle.
This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. You must provide two references, one from your most recent employer and the other from a childcare setting (if applicable). A DBS check will be conducted on your behalf, so please prepare the correct documentation. You must meet these requirements to be eligible for the hiring process.
