As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Market Risk, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
* Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or resolve technical problems.
* Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, and debug code written by others.
* Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
* Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials for integration within existing systems.
* Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies.
* Foster a team culture of opportunity, respect, and innovation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification in system design concepts with advanced experience.
* Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
* Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodologies.
* Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
* Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
* Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines such as cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile, etc.
* In-depth industry knowledge of financial services and IT systems.
* Practical experience with cloud technologies.
* Proficiency with data processing frameworks and tools like Parquet, Iceberg, PySpark, Glue, Lambda, Databricks, and AWS services such as EMR, Athena, and Redshift.
* Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.

* Experience in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, and data lakes.
