Job Title: Project Engineer Mechanical
Equans Data Centers is seeking to appoint a Project Engineer Mechanical to support our expanding Data Centre operations in Newport, South Wales.
We are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for our clients' Data Centre facilities. The successful candidate will join our team to manage the construction phase of large projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure work complies with quality, environmental, and safety standards.
2. Coordinate and control on-site construction activities, ensuring progress aligns with project plans.
3. Liaise with statutory and local authorities for necessary permits and approvals.
4. Participate in site meetings, communicate effectively, and prepare progress reports.
5. Chair and document subcontractor meetings in the absence of the Site or Project Manager.
6. Assist in managing materials and maintaining records (diary, drawings, H&S, COSHH, as-built drawings, levels, foundations, site H&S files).
7. Ensure construction activities meet quality, environmental, and safety requirements.

Candidate Profile
* Experience with main contractors or large subcontractors
* Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical Services
* Effective problem-solving skills
* Desire for continuous learning
* Self-motivated with organizational skills and deadline focus
* Customer-focused with good communication skills
* Attention to health and safety
* Commercial awareness
* Experience in data centers is desirable
* Degree or equivalent in Mechanical discipline is desirable
