Job Title: Principal Civil Engineer
Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to strengthen their engineering team. You will report directly to the Civil Regional Discipline Lead and provide high-quality engineering design services to minimise risk and maximise value on turnkey and engineering services contracts.
Your role will involve co-ordinating designs, producing design documents and drawings, and ensuring all work adheres to health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
* Produce cost-effective design layouts that are practical to construct and commission, considering total project costs.
* Ensure standard practices are applied where possible to maintain competitiveness.
* Provide estimates and feedback to the Proposals department.
* Develop, monitor, and update procedures to improve departmental efficiency.
* Co-ordinate designs with internal and external disciplines.
* Maintain accurate records and files for all contracts.
* Support customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality work.
* Supervise and develop staff, promoting a safe working environment.
* Minimise waste and consider environmental impacts in all designs.
* Ensure all designs fully comply with health and safety requirements.
What Our Client is Looking For:
* Strong understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.
* Experience managing staff in relevant design disciplines.
* Chartered or working towards membership of a professional institution.
* Relevant engineering degree.
* Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
* Broad knowledge across mechanical, process, electrical engineering, and project management.
* Flexible mindset with ability to process complex information.
* Strong communication skills for technical proposals.
* Computer literacy and full driving licence.
