Contract: Permanent
Looking to step away from repetitive day-to-day machining and move into a strategic, influential engineering career?
This is the perfect "bridge" role for a highly skilled CNC Programmer, Senior Setter, or Process Engineer ready to transition into a full Manufacturing Engineering position. Join an established precision engineering business that is actively investing in its people, technology, and facility.
What’s In It For You?
Career Evolution: Move off the tools and into a role where your technical ideas directly shape how products are made.
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a stable daytime schedule with a genuine early finish every single Friday.
Modern Environment: Work within a highly skilled technical team with access to ongoing investment in machinery and software.
Skills Development: Full support to develop your CAD/CAM capabilities if you want to take your digital skills to the next level.
The Role
Working closely with both the production floor and the design office, you will:
Optimise: Develop, programme, and refine CNC machining processes to boost efficiency and quality.
Troubleshoot: Act as the technical link on the shop floor, solving complex machining challenges and supporting machine set-ups.
Introduce New Products (NPI): Take exciting engineering projects from initial development through validation and into live production.
Design & Document: Support tooling and fixture development, while maintaining clear work instructions and process standards.
About You
We are looking for a practical problem-solver who understands what happens on the shop floor but wants to influence the bigger picture. You might currently be working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, CNC Programmer, or a Senior CNC Setter/Programmer looking for that next step.
To fit right in, you will bring:
A strong CNC machining and programming background within precision engineering.
The ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Solid knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and modern machining methods.
Experience using CAD/CAM software (or a strong willingness to learn—we can train you on our specific packages!).
A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to collaborate with production teams.
