Dental Decontamination Assistant
Location: Bupa Dental Care, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:30 (Full-time, 4 days/week)
Bupa Dental Care is looking for a Dental Decontamination Assistant to join our professional and friendly team in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is a key support role within our practice, ensuring all instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilised, and maintained to the highest standard.
What you’ll do:
1. Clean, disinfect and sterilise dental instruments and equipment
2. Ensure compliance with all cross-infection control procedures
3. Maintain a clean and organised decontamination room
4. Follow strict safety and hygiene protocols
5. Support clinical staff with equipment preparation and availability
What we’re looking for:
6. A strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
7. A team player with good communication skills
8. Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
9. Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control

Your opportunity
14. Providing fully sterilised equipment that is compliant to practice policies, procedures and the HTM01-05 guidelines (which we’ll give you full training on)
15. Providing excellent patient care
16. Setting up decontamination of instruments
17. Ensuring Care Quality Commission requirements are met (we’ll train you in these too).

20. Strong communication skills
21. Previous experience is desirable but not essential
