We're working with a UK-based R&D centre that’s proudly committed to keeping engineering, design and manufacturing right here in Britain. With cutting-edge technology and a culture that values innovation, they’re now looking for an ambitious and detail-driven Senior CNC Programmer to join their highly skilled team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a strong CAD/CAM background and hands-on CNC machining experience to take real ownership in a senior, autonomous role. You'll have the freedom to lead by example, drive process improvements, and play a vital role in shaping how things are done on the shop floor.
What you’ll be doing:
* Setting up and managing CNC machines to perform a range of complex jobs
* Translating engineering drawings into precise dimensions for production
* Overseeing the day-to-day running of the machine shop, meeting production schedules
* Conducting quality checks and ensuring final output meets exacting standards
* Regularly inspecting and maintaining machines to ensure peak performance
* Leading on process improvement and supporting junior team members
* Keeping on top of mechanical and safety assessments
What we’re looking for:
* Extensive hands-on experience with CNC Machining (3, 3+2 and 5 axis)
* Strong background in Delcam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Hypermill (essential)
* At least 5 years' experience in CNC programming and operating
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD files
* Experience machining aluminium, stainless steel, and titanium
* Ability to work to tight tolerances and fine surface finishes
* High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset
* Great communication skills and confidence working independently or as part of a team
* Experience with CNC wire eroding is a big plus
