Senior Occupational Therapist – ARFID Mini Team
We are the first eating disorder services in the East of England to develop a mini‑team focused solely on the treatment of children and young people with Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). The team has been operational since April 2023 and is integrated within the existing under‑18 specialist eating disorders service in Norfolk and Waveney.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to cover a 6‑month maternity leave (either fixed‑term or secondment). The successful applicant will work mainly from Hellesdon Hospital, with travel to other sites as required, and will provide leadership on planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of evidence‑based, person‑centred Occupational Therapy for young people with ARFID.
You will be supported by senior clinicians and work closely with other specialists within the service. Clinical supervision and professional leadership will be provided, together with opportunities for professional development through supervision, training, CPD and wider Specialist Services and Trust events.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality, specialist Occupational Therapy to young patients with ARFID and related eating difficulties.
* Plan, prioritise and manage own workload, ensuring timely assessment, treatment and discharge of clients within service policy.
* Deliver autonomous clinical management decisions on complex clinical issues, using analytical and judgement skills.
* Contribute actively to service development of the ARFID pathway and to the wider psychology service for individuals, carers, families and groups.
