Job summary
We are seeking motivated, dynamic, and passionate Band 5 Community Nurses to work within our South Bedfordshire Primary Home Care Team, covering Leighton Buzzard. Staff may need to cover across bases as required. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in community nursing, including facilitating self-care for patients with long-term conditions, health promotion, and participating in innovative activities and projects that enhance patient services and staff wellbeing. You will also have opportunities to be involved in Urgent Response and Virtual Wards, which are key focuses of our teams.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Education
* Essential: Registered General Nurse, evidence-based practice, up-to-date clinical skills
* Desirable: Post-basic professional development, relevant post-registration qualifications, mentorship or teaching qualifications, community nursing experience
Physical/Mental/Emotional Support
* Ability to mobilise and stand for most of the shift; kneel and crouch for clinical care
* Concentration for clinical tasks; manage interruptions and unpredictable behavior
* Handle distressing or emotional situations such as delivering bad news or caring for terminally ill patients
* Work in occasionally unpleasant conditions during home visits, including exposure to body odours, dust, noise, body fluids, or verbal aggression
Experience
* Evidence of and commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork
* Understanding of primary-secondary care interface
* Knowledge of roles within health and social care
Knowledge
* IT literacy; clinical governance awareness; safeguarding principles; health promotion and illness prevention knowledge; fluent English communication skills
* Desirable: Understanding of national healthcare initiatives
