Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Information Analyst - Band 4 to Band 5 development role. The closing date is 15 October 2025.

The role involves supporting the Trust in improving performance and service delivery by developing and maintaining robust reporting systems, providing high-quality business intelligence, and contributing to service improvement initiatives. This includes data analysis, SQL query writing, and collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable information is available to support decision-making.

The post-holder will contribute to the development of a performance-focused culture where safety, effectiveness, and patient experience are consistently delivered through the provision of high-quality performance information, analytical interpretation, benchmarking, forecasting, and intelligent modelling.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will have experience working in a performance and information setting, with knowledge of data protection, FOI, and Caldicott Guidance. They will also have experience of working in a fast-paced environment and be able to analyse data for performance measurement.


Person Specification


Education Qualifications

* Relevant Level 4 Qualification or equivalent experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development


Knowledge

* Good understanding of data protection, FOI and Caldicott Guidance
* Thorough understanding of NHS performance targets
* Thorough Comprehensive knowledge of NHS data standards


Experience

* Experience working in a performance and information setting
* Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
* Experience of effective information & performance management frameworks
* Experience of working within the NHS


Skills and Abilities

* Analyse data for performance measurement within the context of the relevant health and care environment
* Employ applicable data sources to produce valid, verifiable and replicable analyses
* Apply relevant software and numeracy skills with a range of analytical techniques
* Deploy problem-solving skills to define requirements for analytical work
* Generate and communicate insight verbally, visually and in writing to a variety of information consumers
* Engage in continuous skills development, exhibit professionalism and seek out and share emerging best practice
* Extensive experience of SQL script-writing & components
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team offering advice and support where necessary
* Excellent communication and presentation skills - both oral and in writing
* Highly organised and able to balance competing priorities working towards tight deadlines and remaining calm under pressure
* MS Office to highly advanced level in particular excel

Please note that whilst the trust does offer sponsorship, this role is unfortunately not eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK skilled Worker visa route.

The salary for this role is £27,485 to £37,796 a year pro rata per annum, and the contract is permanent.
