About the role
In your role as Purchase Ledger, you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to operate and maintain the purchase ledger. You will be enhancing budgetary control and accountability through ongoing process improvements.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the Finance team you will be responsible for:
* Processing invoices and journals to accounting system within deadlines.
* Processing various payment runs with high levels of accuracy.
* Dealing with supplier queries.
* Proactively managing purchase ledger inbox and liaise closely with non-finance colleagues.
* Maintaining accurate accounting records, being proactive about resolving issues or queries.
* Processing sales invoices, credit control and reconciliations.
* Performing monthly bank reconciliations for corporate entities.
* Supporting the wider Finance team with project work and initiatives as required.
* Providing support and Value for Money activities and benchmarking costs.
* Responding to ad hoc requests. Source data and provide additional financial analysis when the business requires.

To be successful in the role you will have:
* Experience within purchase ledger/accounting environment
* Experience of SUN systems an advantage
* Highly motivated with excellent organisations/ planning skills
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office an advantage
