Job description
Prospero Teaching are currently looking to appoint an experienced Tutor to provide 1:1 educational support to a student in Taunton .
At Prospero Teaching, we work closely with the local authorities, mainstream and specialist SEND schools, and SEND Teams in the Somerset area. We specialise in providing qualified and experienced tutors to work with children in looked after care (LAC/CLA), pupils in mainstream schools that require additional educational support and young people who are not currently accessing mainstream education.
THE POSITION:
On this occasion we are looking for an experienced teacher/tutor to work 1:1 with a Year 11 student who is in need of additional educational support alongside their current education package. The tutor will be required to deliver core subject support (English, Maths & Science) and will be delivering 3 hours of support per week as a ‘catch up’ package. The sessions will be taking place face-to-face at the student’s home in Taunton, so applicants must be available to work face-to-face and be prepared to travel for the sessions if needed.
Further knowledge of the student’s ability and targets for education will be provided, but you will be expected to gather your own resources and deliver the curriculum you deem fit.
To be considered, you must hold QTS, have experience working with SEND, and have a background in teaching or private tutoring. If you can only provide 1 of the above core subjects, please still apply stating your subject specialism as you will still be considered.
