Overview
Together with our client we are looking for a Mechanical Technician, reporting to the Production Team Leader, the Mechanical Technician is responsible for applying mechanical skills in pipe preparation, assembly, and welding. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring all work meets required standards and any issues are promptly reported.

Salary will be £26k per annum plus a 5.5% shift allowance so adds up to £27,430. One shift, Mon-Thurs 8am 16:45, Fri 8am 12:30

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Interpret and work from engineering drawings
* Cut and prepare pipework to a tolerance of 0.5mm across a range of tube sizes
* Perform orbital welding on 1/4 manifolds, producing an average of 12 welds per hour
* Carry out quality assurance and testing of manifolds, including pressure testing and helium leak testing
* Communicate with Team Leaders and Supervisors regarding work progress
* Maintain a clean and organised work area and adhere to all health and safety procedures

Person Specification

1. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to precise tolerances
2. Good manual dexterity
3. Competent in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment
4. Ability to follow clear and detailed procedures and instructions
