Hours: 40.5 hours per week
Location: Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), Reading Road, Aldermaston, Berkshire, England, RG7 4PR
Position Overview
The MITIE House-keeping Supervisor will have the responsibility of ensuring that all facilities in their designated area are cleaned to the required standard as per our competencies and cleaned in line with the agreed timescales and frequency of the contract by their team whilst ensuring that all team members are working safely and efficiently in accordance with the Safe Systems of Work. Managing materials and equipment levels in the facilities and carrying out regular audits to ensure safe working practices are being followed. Must be able to communicate at all levels with both colleagues and the client, be a problem solver and work well under pressure at times. Full driving licence is a must. Gaining DV security clearance is esential .
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. To ensure that team members are continually trained and meet the required standards as per the MITIE competencies.
2. To coach and train all new starters during their probationary period
3. Clean all specified areas within the time allocated and to the standard required.
4. Deal with any complaints / enquiries immediately and report them to the Operations Manager.
5. Undergo and attend all AWE/MITIE mandatory training.
6. To manage team members annual leave and absence either by liaising with other Supervisors, Senior Supervisor and the Operations Manager to ensure appropriate cover for each day.
7. To perform regular cleaning audits for all designated buildings on a regular basis.
8. To become fully accredited as a Work Supervisory Officer within three months of starting the post as Supervisor and complete the Highfield level 3 health & safety or equivalent.
9. To manage the stock levels in each building and ensure that over stocking does not occur. To liaise with the stores men when required.
10. To learn and be familiar with all areas across the sites.
11. Effective communication skills, able to interact in a pleasant manner with staff at all levels, and to encourage and motivate a diverse cleaning team.
