Unlock Your Passions At Castle Vets Pet Healthcare Centre Castle Vets is a large, single-site small animal practice that has been caring for Reading’s pets for over 100 years. Based in the heart of Reading, we’re ideally located with excellent transport links - just a short train ride to London, easy access to the M4 and Heathrow Airport, and well-connected national and regional road networks. Reading itself is a vibrant transport hub, offering direct rail connections to major cities including Manchester, Birmingham, and Cardiff, as well as great local bus and cycle routes. Our friendly and supportive team includes nine Vets, alongside a dedicated group of Nurses and Support Staff who work closely together to provide the best care for our patients. Within the team, we have certificate holders in Exotics, Endosurgery, and Ophthalmology, as well as regular visits from a Diagnostic Imaging certificate holder and an Orthopaedic Specialist. Our fantastic practice is an outstanding air-conditioned modern layout. We have separate, comfortable wards for our in-patients, fully equipped operating theatres including advanced dentistry facilities, and a dedicated diagnostics suite with x-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy equipment. We also have a well-equipped laboratory on site, nine consulting rooms for both Vet and Nurse consultations, and a welcoming waiting area for clients. Our separate but fully integrated cat clinic provides a calm environment for our feline patients, and we’re proud to offer plenty of free parking for clients and staff. Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle. You’ll work a 40-hour week, with the option of either four 10-hour days (with a one-hour lunch break) or five 8-hour days (with a 30-minute lunch break). Our flexible rota includes Saturday mornings on a 2-in-5 rotation (8am–1pm), giving you a good work life balance outside of practice. You’ll be fully supported by our fantastic team of Senior Vets - there’s no sole charge, and with multiple Vets always on site, you’ll never feel on your own. We also allocate both a dedicated mentor and a separate GDP advisor to help you grow in confidence and develop your skills.
