An opportunity has arisen to join the Primary Investigation Team, within the Roads Policing Support Unit, as a Roads Policing Primary Investigation Officer.
Working in a team, you will support the processing and investigation of road traffic offences where no response has been received or links to criminality are suspected.
Applicants will need to provide evidence of the following skills/experience within their application:
Essential:
1. The applicant should be able to evidence their skills and experience in investigation processes including relevant experience.
2. Skills in team working and working with others are essential.
3. The applicant must demonstrate their ability to analyse information critically.
4. Strong skills in decision making are essential.
Desirable:
5. GCSE Maths/English (or relevant qualification).
6. The post holder will be required to work without close supervision and must be able to evidence their organisational skills and effective prioritisation of workload.
The role is currently based at Billericay Police Station but is expected to move to Basildon in September 2025.
This role is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Essex Police offer agile working which designates that certain roles can offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including some home working. The specific requirements of this role will be discussed during the interview stages with candidates. The extent of flexibility will be agreed through individual assessment with the line manager to assess operational requirements and individual’s suitability for home working. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend the contractual workplace, as agreed with the line manager.
Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £28,650.00.
