Senior Solicitor (Contracts and Procurement) Sector: Local Authority Department: Corporate Services Reports to: Head of Law (Place) Contract: 4–5 months (contract), Monday to Friday hybrid working (2/3) Location: London Pay: £475–£500 per day (umbrella), inside IR35 Management: No direct reports Overview We’re looking for an experienced Senior Solicitor to join the Contracts and Procurement Legal Team in the local authority sector on a contract basis for 4 to 5 months. This is a hands-on role where you’ll provide expert legal advice and work closely with colleagues, managers, and partner agencies to support key organisational priorities. You’ll help ensure legal services run smoothly and to a high standard.
Responsibilities Act as a senior member of the Contracts and Procurement Legal Team. Support the Head of Law (Place) on contracts and procurement—drafting agreements, advising on procurement, and related matters. Provide clear legal advice on contracts and procurement within the local authority.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex contractual documents. Advise on procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. Deliver first-rate legal support, focused on client service and continuous improvement.
