The role
Rotating shifts - 6.00 am to 2.00 pm. 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm - Monday to Friday, overtime is offered when the business requires this. My client are seeking a skilled and motivated Electronics Equipment Technician to join their growing team in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background in electronics, testing, fault finding, and equipment maintenance to work within a dynamic and innovative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly, testing, calibration, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of electronic and semiconductor-related equipment, ensuring products meet quality standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities * Assemble, test, inspect, and maintain electronic and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. * Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to component level where required. * Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and servicing of electronic systems and precision instrumentation. * Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of semiconductor process equipment. * Read and interpret circuit diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications. * Record test results and maintain accurate service documentation. * Support production, engineering, and quality teams with technical expertise. * Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, quality standards, and cleanroom protocols where applicable. * Assist with product improvements and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Essential * Previous experience working as an Electronics Technician, Electronics Equipment Technician, Test Technician, Semiconductor Equipment Technician, or in a similar technical role. * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. * Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical documentation. * Experience using electronic test equipment. * Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Desirable * Experience working within the semiconductor industry or supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment. * Familiarity with cleanroom environments and associated procedures. * HNC/HND, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, or a related discipline. * Experience of PCB assembly and soldering to IPC standards. * Knowledge of calibration procedures and quality management systems. * Experience with vacuum systems, robotics, motion control systems, process equipment, or precision instrumentation. * Experience within manufacturing, semiconductor and PCB. * Benefits * Competitive salary package. * Company pension scheme. * Ongoing training and professional development. * Career progression opportunities. * Generous holiday allowance. * Supportive and collaborative working environment.
