As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of our residents, helping them develop essential living skills. Where will I be working?
You’ll be part of our dedicated team in Clayton, where we provide 24-hour care for adults with Learning Disabilities and additional health needs. We’re looking for compassionate individuals to support our service users with complex health requirements.
Driving is essential as you will be responsible for transporting service users to their daily activities and appointments.
Your Role and Responsibilities
What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same! Your responsibilities will include:
* Promoting the independence of the individuals we support
* Assisting with daily activities such as cleaning, cooking, and outings
* Organizing engaging activities in the home and local community
* Helping residents develop life skills and pursue personal interests
* Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
* Providing personal care assistance
* Conducting manual handling tasks as needed
* Supporting medication management, including creams and lotions
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring

What skills and qualities do I need?
While experience with learning disabilities and complex needs is a plus, it’s not essential. What truly matters is that you are:
* Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic
* Flexible, patient, and non-judgmental
* A great team player with plenty of energy
* Skilled in effective communication
* Able to handle the physical aspects of the role, including manual handling
* Experienced in helping individuals manage anxiety
